The Redline radar detector is equipped With DSP which helps prevent needless alarms in the urban areas. Two of its features Auto and AutoNoX help filter most of the K and X band false alarms. Another fascinating feature is the Auto-mute which gives a few alarms and then turns down the volume.

The Escort RedLine radar detector is a fantastic detector and is fully programmable. It comes with the Escorts TSR device software which filters out some of the K-Band speed detectors. The Redline has an adjustable display, where in you can turn off the 3 LED lights and use only the speaker alert. Clubbed with the Auto-Mute feature this forms a good package. Yet there were a couple of adverse reviews. I would venture to add that the Redline might err on the side of caution which is a good thing. With its exceptional sensors it is equipped to do so. Yet, a few minor tinkers with the firmware can sort out the common K and X Band false alarms.

On the flip side the unit is Bulky. This can put some strain on the dash. Though it serves the purpose, the window mount is dated and low tech but has not been a reason for any major complaint. A couple of users knocked down the RedLine’s ability to detect POPs – those short signal burst speed detectors being used of late. But, other users have given reviews to the contrary. The Escort RedLine radar detector doesn’t have GPS based detection which builds on the location memory of Traffic cameras. But, then I believe most users are not likely to be Red/Yellow light jumpers.

And yes laser detection. Well it does seem to fall short here, the better option would be to go for jammers.
